Road Trip '20: Frisco, CO → Irwin, ID
Leaving Frisco, CO, we had one of our longest drives ahead of us. We decided that morning that we’d drive all the way to Irwin, ID, and stay in a quaint Airbnb near the Teton Range. Both carloads left Frisco at the same time, though a coffee stop unfortunately separated us, and we ended up taking different routes for a bit.

Leaving CO and entering WY, we were able to pull over on the side of the road and see both these “Welcome to Colorado” and “Welcome to Wyoming” signs. Earlier, I had told Marshal that I was bummed we weren’t stopping and taking photos of these entrance signs along our way, so this was a perfect opportunity to capture both signs.
Because Michael and Anne were on a different route, their Colorado sign sighting was sunnier than ours.
Luckily, another couple was stopped on this side of the road, and they were able to take our family photo. (Boo in the background, yes, near the highway.)
These were taken when I was driving and Marshal was sleeping with Boo in the back. I thought we were approaching the Teton Mountain Range, but a bit further in to our drive, I then realized what I was seeing here ^ may not have been the Tetons. We were on Highway 191, still in WY but approaching ID, and my best guess is these mountains were a part of the Gros Venture Range.
We settled in, played with the dogs for a bit, and then went on a neighborhood walk.
We stayed two nights in Irwin, which was a really nice change from an all-day drive. We were able to relax a bit, drink a bit, and explore the land. The next day, we went to Fall Creek Falls, seen below. It was somewhat of an overcast day, but all us humans got really burnt as we, and the dogs, crawled up the waterfall.
Everyone, especially the dogs, was tuckered out after our waterfall adventure.
Yes, we lit a handful of roman candles and sparklers like total hooligans.
