London '23, Day 1: Dark Academia Vibes

Marshal and I were fortunate to enjoy a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom this fall. We departed PDX on October 15th and landed in London early morning on October 16th. From London, we went to Liverpool, then to Scotland (mostly Edinburgh). Below are a few moments from our first day where we familiarized ourselves with our London neighborhood.

Jet-lagged and delirious, we had to kill about four hours before checking into our Soho Airbnb.

To pass the time, we ordered the tiniest coffees known to man, had a good laugh about it, and people watched for a few hours.

We weren’t entirely sure where to eat for our first London meal but eventually stumbled upon this little Italian restaurant.

We enjoyed some silence while inside the St. James Church.

To end our night, we walked through Green Park to Buckingham Palace.

Despite his hesitancy, I was able to get Marshal to pop in a photo with me in front of a Buckingham Palace gate.
