Edinburgh '23, Day 9: History Lessons

On our first full day in Edinburgh, we first ate a big breakfast on the Royal Mile (nearby our cozy Airbnb) then attended a guided tour around Edinburgh Castle. The weather fluctuated between gloomy and sunny throughout the day which allowed for beautiful photos when looking at and looking from the huge castle on the hill.

In between breakfast and the castle tour, we explored the area around the Royal Mile. I found a Marshall street and made the man pose for me!

It was a gloomy and a bit misty when we first arrived to the Edinburgh Castle.

Our tour guide was an animated storyteller, and we both enjoyed the tour she provided. While Marshal had already known a lot of the Scottish and English history, I didn’t, so I vowed to Marshal to pay attention and stay awake during a later showing of Braveheart. 😄

That faraway body of water is the Firth of Forth, seen from the castle.

Departing the castle, the skies were much bluer than they were upon our entrance.

Walking back to our Airbnb to relax, we found this cute, little Halloween alleyway. 🎃

Our day ended with a beautiful sunset on the Royal Mile 🥰
